Opened in 1947 by a son of Lyon bookseller Henry Lardanchet in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, Librairie Lardanchet was carried forward in 1975 by Pierre and Dominique Meaudre. The bookshop is now run by their sons, Thierry and Bertrand Meaudre.
Located Place Beauvau, in front of the Palais de l'Elysée and next to Hôtel Bristol, alongside Faubourg-Saint-Honoré art galleries and antique dealers, it was decorated by the architect and designer Dominique. The bookshop is one of the Parisian places appreciated by art-and-rare-book lovers.
