Exhibition at Museum aan de Stroom, Antwerp, 3 October 2020 - 28 March 2021
This exhibition catalogue presents around one hundred Congolese works from the Museum aan de Stroom in Antwerp, acquired during the colonial period.
The book explains the history and significance of these objects, as well as the influence of the Christian missions on the country's culture and the relations between Africans and Europeans from the 16th to the 20th century. For the first time, Congolese and Belgian authors have worked together on the historical links between Antwerp and the Congo.
