French painter Amédée Ozenfant (1886-1966) was the main theorist of Purism, which he founded. After classical studies, he developed the foundations of his art during the First World War, notably with the publication of the magazine L'Elan (1915-1917). Surrounded by other artists, as Fernand Léger, Le Corbusier, Charchoune or Baumeister, he created an artistic language in keeping with early-20s industrial development.
This book, catalogue raisonné of Ozenfant's painted work, gives a new light on his art. It also contains several analysis based on ofter unpublished documents, and a study on his particular relationship with Le Corbusier.
