This monograph is dedicated to the physician and architect Claude Perrault, brother of the author of the fairy tales, founding member of the Académie des Sciences and translator of Vitruvius.
In the course of his career, Perrault took part in major projects: he modified the construction project for the colonnade of the Louvre, drew up the plans for the Paris Observatory and for some of the interiors of Versailles. His theoretical positions in architecture made him known throughout Europe.
