In January 1936, Cora Kavanagh inaugurated her monumental building in front of the Plaza San Martín. The 120-metre-high colossus was, at the time, the tallest reinforced concrete building in South America.

The owner of this unique real estate project was a 46-year-old widow and millionaire. After living in Europe for more than twenty years, she decided to sell the land she inherited from her husband and entrust the Sánchez, Lagos y de la Torre studio with the construction of the skyscraper that was to become the new symbol of modernity in Buenos Aires.

This illustrated biography sheds light on the life of Cora Kavanagh, a collector of antiques and a leading figure in the society of the time, who left Buenos Aires one of the city's most popular buildings. The book brings together texts, photographs and documents, most of them previously unpublished, from the personal collection that the author has built up over the years.
