Exhibition at the Grimaldi forum, Monaco, 6 July - 8 September 2019
Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) was a high-profile figure and the creator of his own legend. Above all else, however, he was a painter whose passionate and deep know ledge of the art of the past paved the way for the most contemporary art.
Thirty years after the artist's death, this exhibition catalogue traces the evolution of his work by highlighting his major influences (Impressionism, Cubism, abstract art, Surrealism, classicism, Fop art and Hyperrealism), from his first paintings of the 1910s to his last canvases of the early 1980s.
