Exhibition at the Couvent des Jacobins, Rennes, 23 June - 9 September 2018
This exhibition catalogue gathers around 60 works from the Pinault Collection, exploring people's resilience in hard times.
Works by internationally renowned artists such as Maurizio Cattelan, Marlene Dumas, Bertrand Lavier, Thomas Schütte or Thomas Houseago, and emerging ones like Vincent Gicquel and Lucas Arruda, led into intimately experiencing the dark underside of humanity. Sculptures, paintings and videos stood up in the face of wars, working conditions, colonisation but also individual and spiritual crises.
