This book is dedicated to François-Joseph Bélanger (1744-1818), one of the most talented architects of his time. He excelled particularly in the design of housing and gardens, delivering some of the most remarkable residences of the Ancien Régime.
In the course of his career, he also worked on a wide variety of projects, such as housing estates, market halls, slaughterhouses, public baths and auditoriums. At the same time, he put his talents at the service of the domestic sphere by creating the most original interior decorations of the time.
