The new movement in contemporary gardening is about returning to wilderness, creatively landscaping with native plants to enrich their surroundings and blend in with nature. It is about politely rejecting the traditional aesthetic of gardening, with its hedges and pruning, and inviting a different kind of beauty: an explosion of native plants, ancient trees, vibrant patches of wildflowers and perennials, succulents, untrimmed bushes and ornamental grasses.
This book presents twelve gardens captured by photographer Andre Baranowski. These range from small private residences to large estates, and were created by renowned landscape designers such as Oehme van Sweden, Fernando Caruncho, Jorge Sanchez and Piet Oudolf.
