The Swiss artist Johannes Itten (1888-1967) was not only a pioneering art theorist and a prominent teacher at the Bauhaus, but he also left an extensive and wide-ranging oeuvre which is only known in part today. He also produced one of the most important works on the theory of colours in the 20th century.
This second of a three-volume catalogue raisonné surveys and documents scientifically all paintings, watercolours and drawings from 1939 to 1967. In comparison with the 1972 catalogue raisonné, more than 1000 works have been added from all the creative periods.
