Exhibition at the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris, 19 October 2021 - 20 March 2022
The only daughter of Berthe Morisot, niece of Edouard Manet and wife of the painter and collector Ernest Rouart, Julie Manet (1878-1966) was a key figure in the artistic and literary life of Paris at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th. From an early age, her mother, her uncle, and later their Impressionist colleagues took her as a model, and she and her husband expanded the art collection she had inherited.
This exhibition catalogue is the first monograph devoted to the life and work of Julie Manet, of whom only the Diary from 1893 to 1899 has been published until now.
