Exhibition at the Musée de la publicité, Paris, 23 June - 7 November 2010
From the Second Empire to the 1930s, Jules Chéret produced posters that accompanied France's entry into modern life, all of which are reproduced in this catalogue raisonné of his work.
The book allows us to discover aspects of his work that were previously unknown - in particular his beginnings -, evokes his work as a decorator, and analyses his relationships with artists and the views of art critics of the time.
