Armande and Geoffroy de Bazelaire have shared a passion for marquetry for fifty years. Geoffroy de Bazelaire, attracted to cabinet making at a very young age, attended the Saint-Luc school in Tournai, Belgium. His meeting with Armande de Chavagnac, a former student of the École des Beaux-Arts in Dijon, led them to move from furniture restoration to marquetry creation. Their complementary skills have enabled them to raise their art to the highest level and to be recognised through the first Prix Liliane Bettencourt pour l'intelligence de la main in 2000.
This book brings together the essence of their work, mainly figurative compositions evoking a wide variety of subjects, as well as abstract compositions. These marquetries are intended for panels or volumes, such as the triptych of the Conseil Régional de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It also allows to discover their very personal technique.
