Exhibition at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, Marrakech, 2 March 2024 - 5 January 2025
A lover of flowers and gardens, Yves Saint Laurent found them an infinite source of inspiration. A thousand and one rosebuds, sprigs of lily of the valley, majestic lilies, avalanches of bougainvillea and poppy petals were transformed in his creations. The couturier used flowers as a palette of motifs and techniques: applied, printed, embroidered, flowers adorned Yves Saint Laurent women.
This book examines the symbolism and role of flowers in the history of fashion and in the work of Yves Saint Laurent. The accompanying images offer a free and poetic interpretation of the couturier's work.
