This book is illustrated with a great number of screens coming from private collections, unknown by the public. The great screens are detailed following their mythological or symbolical themes.
The descriptions of the decors allow to discover the life of the dignitaries, men of letters, women and children, and also allegoric animals, gardens, lakes, and real landscapes.
