Exhibition at the Musée du Louvre-Lens, - 13 October 2021 - 31 January 2022
The Louvre is a fundamental place for understanding the work of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). From his very first visit in 1900 to the exhibition of his own works in the Grande Galerie in 1971, the museum occupied a special place in the imagination of the artist, whose countless creations are derived from drawings, engravings, paintings, sculptures and objets d'art held in the Louvre.
This exhibition catalogue highlights the strong links between the Catalan artist and the famous Parisian museum over the course of the twentieth century and follows Picasso on his peregrinations through the Louvre's collections.
