Exhibition at the Musée Eugène Boudin, Honfleur, 3 July 2021 - 6 March 2022
Painter, drawing teacher and museum curator, Louis-Alexandre Dubourg (1821-1891) is one of the emblematic artists of the town of Honfleur. Between a classical approach that he applied to scenes of daily life and a taste for landscape that led him to take part in the revival of the genre, he developed a body of work that was as discreet as it was prolific.
Through a selection of works from the collections of the museums of Honfleur, this exhibition catalogue recalls the importance of his work for the history of painting in Normandy in the 19th century.
