Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, London, 9 February - 27 May, 2012
Lucian Freud (1922-2011) was one of the world's greatest realist painters. Among the sitters represented are friends, family members (particularly his mother, Lucie) and artists such as Frank Auerbach, Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
This catalogue of the exhibition in London explores his portraiture across seven decades, from the early 1940s to his death in 2011, and presents 130 of Freud's paintings, drawings and etchings, drawn from public and private collections around the world.
