Brussels-born Louis Tenaerts (1898-1994) was a prolific architect and builder. Throughout his career he followed fashions, embraced modernity and integrated the new materials in vogue. Drawing on the rich range of Art Deco forms, he designed a cheerful and efficient architecture, leaving his mark on many Brussels districts. An expert in the construction of modest, mass-produced houses with limited budgets, Tenaerts also designed more opulent dwellings, incorporating a certain modern comfort and displaying the latest stylistic trends.
This book presents the various houses designed by the Belgian architect in Brussels during the first half of the 20th century. Particular attention is paid to the Modernist House in the Rue de la Seconde Reine in Uccle, where the author of this volume lives.
