New revised and augmented edition

In this new edition of the catalogue raisonné of Nicolas de Staël (1914-1955), the body of work is composed of 1120 paintings. Nineteen paintings have been added, including 7 that have been recognised since 1997 as being by Nicolas de Staël and 7 sketches that were already included in the first catalogue raisonné in 1968, then withdrawn by Françoise de Staël in the 1997 edition. It was decided to reinstate them in order to produce an exhaustive catalogue of the work.

Thanks to meticulous research with collectors, auction houses, galleries and museums, the paintings are now reproduced in colour. Each work listed contains a note including technical, bibliographical, historical and exhibition data.
