Chairmaking developped in original features in Lyon with the work of Pierre Nogaret (1718-1771) and other carpenters during the XVIII th century. The inventory and study has been made by Bernard Deloche, while Jean Yves Normand has led researches into the archives. This unabled them to establish a remarkable typology of this production.
This book also studies the production in Lyon during the XIX th and the XX th century, and presents the work of Andre Sornay, a designer of genius.
