Exhibition at the Ludwig Museum, Cologne, Germany, 18 February 2017 - 14 May 2017
A German painter and sculptor of Jewish origin, Otto Freundlich (1878-1943) was widely known in the art circles of his day. He was on close terms with the leading artists of the main movements of his time, who also influenced him, but created a unique body of work in his paintings, sculptures, mosaics, and stained glass.
This exhibition catalogue follows the arc of Otto Freundlich's life and work, and explores the development of his artistic and philosophical ideas.
