Limited edition in a slipcase
In the 1950s, Charles de Beistegui commissioned two large watercolour albums from the Russian Alexandre Serebriakoff. One was devoted to the transformations of the Château de Groussay in the 1940s, the other to the great ball that Beistegui gave at the Labia Palace in Venice, entitled "the ball of the century" and which has become a symbol.
The first volume of this boxed set presents the history, architecture and decoration of the Palazzo Labia and Charles de Beistegui's efforts to restore the salons to their original splendour. The second volume reproduces in full the 13 watercolours by Serebriakoff, with a detailed commentary explaining the course of the festival.
