Exhibition at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, Paris, 14 February - 2 June 2024

A major figure on the international architectural scene in the second half of the twentieth century, Paul Andreu (1938-2018) was an engineer, architect, writer and painter. Throughout his work, he conducted essential architectural research into the question of flight, whether physical or poetic.

Author of the emblematic Terminal 1 at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Terminal 2 in Cairo, Andreu is recognised for his decisive contribution to airport architecture as much as for his work in Japan and China, where he was among the first French architects to make his mark, with the Osaka Maritime Museum and the Beijing Opera House, inaugurated in 2007.

Following a thematic path, this exhibition catalogue presents 280 original works, with the aim of analysing Paul Andreu's fundamental contribution to airport design, as well as his work in Asia, where he was one of the few French architects to make a name for himself from the 1980s onwards.
