French cabinetmaker Pierre Garnier (1726/1727-1806) is one of the pioneers of French Neoclassical style. From 1761, he began producing furniture decorated with motifs drawn from the architecture of the Antiquity. Among his customers, he had the Marquis de Contades, the Duchesse Mazarin, and the Marquis de Marigny.
In this book, 5th volume of Les Cahiers du mobilier series, Garnier's work is meticulously described and analyzed, notably through a catalogue of his extant works, or attributed to him.
