Exhibition at the Espace Fondation EDF, Paris, 27 April - 23 August 2015
Belgian sculptor Pol Bury (1922-2005) began his career as a painter of Surrealism, which he rapidly gave up to devote himself to the art of movement, becoming one of the main 20th-century kinetic sculptors. During his career, he was strongly supported by prestigious galleries, as Iris Clert, which presented his first exhibition in Paris (1962), John Lefebre in Manhattan (from 1964), Aimé Maeght from 1969 in Paris and Saint-Paul-de-Vence, or Artcurial then Louis Carré, which offered him picture rails and spaces. He mixed with numerous artists, including Yves Klein, Soto, Arman and Tinguely.
This exhibition catalogue recounts half a century of creation: sculptures, installations, fountains, jewels, models, photographs, archive films, etc.
