Exhibition at the Musée national de Port-Royal des Champs, Magny-les-Hameaux, 7 April - 25 July 2016
Between 1860 and 1930, the village of Magny-les-Hameaux was inhabited by members of the Bonheur family for three generations. United in the French artistic production of the second half of the 19th century, the children of Raimond Bonheur, Rosa (1822-1899), Auguste, Isidore and Juliette, left a collective work - painted and sculpted - that is important in the history of animal art.
This exhibition catalogue retraces, from 1860 to 1930, the career of three generations of artists among whom stands out the emblematic figure of Rosa, as famous for her brush as for her temperament.
