The Union des Artistes Modernes, created in 1929 by a group of creators - designers, architects, jewellers, goldsmiths, graphic designers, painters - raised decorative arts as a full art on their own, and this until 1937.
This book recounts the story of this movement, notably though the exhibitions to which they participated. The second part of the study offers 70 illustrated biographies of the main members of the U.A.M.: Herbst, Sandoz, Sonia Delaunay, Mallet Stevens, Puiforcat, Pierre Chareau, Gustave Miklos, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, Joseph Csaky, etc.
