Exhibition at the Triennale Milano, 27 January - 23 April 2023
Architect, designer and sculptor, Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) represents the ideal profile of the second-generation Milanese architect: humanist and intellectual, cosmopolitan in his training and friendships, an active academic and professional in the field of architecture and design from the 1950s onwards, an intrepid experimenter and innovator of the techniques that he strove to introduce into the intense debate inherent in his profession.
This monograph retraces more than sixty years of Angelo Mangiarotti's work through a wide selection of unpublished works, projects, documents and materials, accompanied by essays and testimonies from designers, intellectuals and his collaborators. The book bears witness to the Italian designer's efforts to give a face to industry, shaping a direct and innovative language for his workplaces and intervening in the material processes of production to achieve the poetry of unique objects that stand the test of time.
