Founded in 1926 by Christian Zervos in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Cahiers d'Art is at once a publishing house, a gallery and a magazine. The magazine Cahiers d'Art is truly unique for its time: a contemporary art journal with a bold layout and typography, abundantly illustrated and bringing together modern and ancient art.

Since its revival in 2012, Cahiers d'Art has produced exhibitions, reviews, art books and limited editions devoted to Ellsworth Kelly, Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, Rosemarie Trockel, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Thomas Schütte, Gabriel Orozco, Joan Miró, Lucas Arruda, Lee Ufan and Ai Weiwei.

This special issue presents a selection of previously unpublished or little-known works by Christo, including his enigmatic Show cases, his work on architecture and his Wrapped trees.
