Born in 1961, Hubert Le Gall is a sculptor and designer. He began his career by a "plant" period during which he created the objects that made him famous: the Spectre lamp, and the Sculpture lampe, the Pot de fleurs armchair, the Ombre chiné carpet, etc. Hubert Le Gall crosses and assimilates references (Jean-Michel Frank, Jean Royère, Giacometti, Dali...) with a large bestiary, plants and geometry. Since 2000, he has been in charge of exhibition designing, notably Canaletto à Venise (Musée Maillol, Paris, 2012) and Design contre Design (Grand Palais, Paris, 2007).
In this book, Jean-Louis Gaillemin recounts the artistic story of Hubert Le Gall. Several contributors - art dealers, curators, collectors and friends - talk about their favourite object by the artist.
