Exhibition at Fondation Gianadda, Martigny (Switzerland), 3 December 2020 - 13 June, 2021
This exhibition catalogue offers a reinterpretation of the work of Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985), great defender of "Outsider art". Paradoxically, although he refused mainstream culture, schools, movements and taught techniques, his work occupies a major place in the artistic landscape of the second half of the 20th century.
The book testifies of the artist's inexhaustible creativity, whose polymorphic work covers six decades of the 20th century. To highlight all the aspects of his creation, it is organised around high points, alternating masterpieces of his painting and major sets of works on paper (drawings and gouaches), presented chronologically.
