Trained at the Ecole supérieure des arts graphiques Pennighen, French artist Raphaèle Bernard-Bacot worked on dance before becoming passionate for fruits, vegetables and gardens. Since 2013, she has been working in the heart of the Potager du Roi in Versailles, where she sketches in her diary the shapes, colours and activities of this exceptional site through seasons and productions.
This drawn sketchbook is the result of a three-year journey through the 450 fruit varieties and 400 vegetable varieties grown in the Potager du Roi.
