Musée des Beaux-Arts, Quimper, 15 December 2022 - 13 March 2023
Through a selection of nearly two hundred drawings, notebooks, watercolours and pastels from the Musée d'Orsay collections, this exhibition catalogue is an invitation to a poetic journey to the heart of the graphic arts of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Works by more than seventy artists, including Gustave Doré, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Marie Bracquemond, Gustave Moreau, Odilon Redon, Paul Gauguin, Maurice Denis and Pierre Bonnard, are brought together and studied around five themes linked to the imaginary and dreams, interior views and music as a source of inspiration.
