Exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Marseille, 29 October 2004 - 26 February 2005 ;
at the Musée Marmottan-Monet, Paris, 15 March - 26 June 2005
The landscape painter Paul Guigou (1834 - 1871), from Marseille school, is one of the greatest Provence painters. This catalogue accompagnies the Marseille and Marmottan-Monet Museums exhibition and contributes to give to Guigou the place which belongs to him in landscape paintings before Impressionism. Claude-Jeanne Bonnici, author of Guigou's catalogue raisonne and curator of the exhibition, underlines in this book the talent of the artist to give back the extraordinary light of Provencal landscapes.
