Piero Portaluppi (1888-1967) is an undisputed protagonist of twentieth-century Italian architecture. An eclectic protagonist who eschewed styles and schools, a master of hydroelectric architecture and a great urban planner whose projects changed the face of Milan, Portaluppi was famous in the 1930s, controversial and forgotten in the post-war period, before being rediscovered today.

Produced in collaboration with the Fondazione Piero Portaluppi, this comprehensive monograph includes a large photographic album with new colour images of Portaluppi's architectural projects and interiors, three previously unpublished essays illustrated with period photographs by Antonio Paoletti, views and models of the architect's projects, and documents on his personal interests (caricatures, diagrams, sundials, postcards, press cuttings).
