A member of the CoBrA group, Reinoud d'Haese (1928-2007) invented his own processes, giving free rein to his imagination. In his studio, surrounded by a generous natural environment, Reinoud created figures in soldered copper, pewter or cut or chiselled brass, giving rise to a fantastic bestiary of glowing, gleaming creatures with coppery highlights, the result of the brilliance of a mixture of different metals.
This abundantly illustrated and documented monograph retraces the life and work of the artist, whose sculptures inspired by medieval legends and the animal kingdom, imbued with the spirit of the North and the tradition of surrealism, have made him an emblematic Belgian artist. It includes a complete chronology of exhibitions and an exhaustive bibliography.
