Exhibition at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, 16 June - 4 September 2022
Crossing visions, periods and media, this catalogue of the exhibition organised by Chaumet examines the way in which plants have been represented for more than 5,000 years. Chaumet has drawn on its vast heritage, one of the most important in the history of jewellery in Europe.
In this book, nearly 400 works, most of which have never been seen before, offer a dialogue between paintings, sculptures, textiles, photographs, furniture and 80 jewellery objects from Chaumet and other houses. More than one hundred artists, scientists and jewellers embody this dialogue, including Nobuyoshi Araki, Arcimboldo, Joseph Chaumet, Otto Dix, Joan Fontcuberta, Émile Gallé, Ernst Haeckel, Eva Jospin, André Kertész, Le Corbusier, Robert Mapplethorpe, Carl von Linné, Claude Monet, Georgia O'Keeffe, Odilon Redon, Yves Saint-Laurent and Séraphine.
