A vacation villa inspired by the Renaissance villas of Verona, set in the hills overlooking Ravina di Trento, Villa Margon was built in the mid-sixteenth century by the Basso family, from Bergamo.
The rectangular main building is completed by a neo-Gothic chapel, an English-style garden, a 135-hectare nature reserve and a graceful crenellated building with turret. The interiors are decorated with frescoes depicting a cycle of twelve months, a series of scenes from the Old and New Testaments and the military exploits of Emperor Charles V.
The result of an exceptional photographic campaign, this book illustrates the history, architecture and artistic treasures of this famous sixteenth-century residence, now owned by the Lunelli family, who have restored it to its former splendour through extensive restoration work.
