Zao Wou-Ki (1920-2013) is recognised worldwide as one of the greatest contemporary artists of Chinese origin. His oeuvre comprises more than 1,900 paintings produced between 1935 and 2008, when he decided to stop using oil paint. During his lifetime, he collected all possible information about his work, in order to keep a record of it and ensure its continuity. These archives, begun under his supervision, served as the basis for this book.
Edited by Françoise Marquet, the artist's widow, and Yann Hendgen, Artistic Director of the Zao Wou-Ki Foundation, this second volume of the catalogue raisonné of the Chinese artist's paintings is devoted to the years 1959-1974.
