Exhibition at the musée Rodin, Paris, 6 April - 22 July 2018
From the 1890s, new experiments raised dance to the rank of integral art. Sensible to these innovations, Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) turned his attention to outstanding personalities, among them Loïe Fuller and Hanako.
This exhibition catalogue offers to share Rodin's discovery of the world of dance. It is built around the famous Dance movement series never exhibited during the artist's life, and around hundred drawings, including the famous corpus of Cambodian Dancers.
This book gathers sculptures, photographs and drawings, plunging the reader in a universe of grace and poetry.
